Do you have a job 1 or job 2? If it is a Job 1, it is behind the rear panel behind the rear seats. Job 2 and newer all you got to do is remove the the passenger air bag, you can access it by opening up your glove box and looking up there 2 brass looking screws unscrew them, slide the airbag out then unscrew the plastic cover for the computer and on top of that is your 5 digit code. Good luck finding it. Check out www.mysporttrac.com for some good info also. Just like this site, there is alot of good info and great people that will help you out.
if its a job 1 the keypad code should be somewhere in the cargo bin behind the rear seat. If its a job 2, it should be in the glove box near the airbag. I think there is a project on finding this on www.mysporttrac.com . Good luck finding it.
I was told that if you were to bring your truck to a ford dealer and show them the V.I.N. they could give you a generic code to give you the capability to program your own. Good Luck!
I bought a 02 Mercury Mountaineer and all I did was I took it to the ford dealer and they put it on the computer and told me what it was in 2 mins. Didn't cost me nothing. That is the easiest way to do it.
Id check these four places: inside the glove compartment; on the drivers door jamb area; rear drivers side wheel weld area; on top of the electrical connectors in the rear drivers wheel weld area.
Mine was located on the rear drivers side wheel weld and was only visible with a mirror and a flashlight. You're looking for the digits on top of a sticker. Once you get the #s, write them down on a pc of masking tape and put the tape in your glove compartment.
After you get the code, print it inside the gas filler door. That way when you lock your keys inside, open the gas door read the code and you can get in.
