New Compressor Help Needed!! Your Opinions Please!!
Greetings All:
Looking at a new Porter cable compressor for the farm Shop.
Locally they have this Porter Cable compressor on sale for $379.00. Seems like a pretty good price. Would appreciate your opinions on this compressor ASAP. Below is the link to it.
Make sure that the air delivery is sufficient for your intended useage. The specs indicate 9.7 scfm@90psi.
The compressor I have in my garage is rated 15.0scfm@90psi. 80 gallon tank. I use it to run an impact gun, various air tools and a sandblast cabinet. It does run steady with the blaster, tho.
If you are going to use it alot, then I would look for a two stage compressor. You will get more life out of it. A good compressor is going to cost from $350-750.
For a lot of heavy use a 2 stage is best. Being one stage and oil less expect a lot of noise.
> SCFM Air Delivery @90 PSI 9.7
This is good, you need 6.0 CFM at 90 psi to do any real work with impact guns and light cutting and grinding.
> Regulator NO
> Gauges 1
You will need to add a regulator and a gauge, so count that into the cost and make sure it is easy to add (has a blocked port) to the compressor. The compressor should kick on at < 100 psi and stop at 135 with a tank rated for at least 150 psi.
