There's also the Pond aluminum block....... 427 Ford FE Type Engine, Pond Racing a very nice block. And there's also Shelby which is a bit more $$$ but hey it's only money.
Genesis does cast iron blocks on a more frequent basis. But also does aluminum. Normally Genesis is the go to for iron and Pond or Shelby for aluminum. If this is something your thinking about now or in the future buy it from a well known FE vendor like Keith Craft or Survival. And have them do the machine work. Besides some QC foundry stuff there's a pretty good laundry list to do on these blocks. These vendors know what to do and back it up.

sorry for being late to the party you knowhow women are with thier makeup shoes hair etc...
and yeah saving weight for this application would be a great thing unless i pay a pound of gold for each pound reduced.

Aluminum block in your new ride might put you in the doghouse with the woman once she finds out how much it costs hahaha. Just take out a second mortage or is it morgage? I could have bought at least 3 of these blocks if i would have stopped drinking in my earlier years. But hey i am crazy enough to look at fiberglass cabs for the older pickups at only $6600... wonder if i could get a bank loan hahaha. You only live once so its about smiles per gallon. Just my .02
