i recently bought a 93 ford explorer eddie bauer edition. perfect body and needs engine but that is already covered. total cost was $450 with with engine installed.

now i am wondering what it will take to make the outside look like a 95 or newer explorer. thanks

If you really wanted to change the outside you could swap the front clip. Most of the mounting points should be the same, but I don't think that the lines would fit very well with the styling of the older truck.
