Has anyone had Ford buy back their truck. I bought a new 2006 and had it only 12 days out of the first 45. They have offered to buy it back and let me order a 2007 to replace it. If this has happened to any of you is there anything I need to look out for.
most states have a law, if the truck is in the shop for so long in such a period, the factory has to buy it back or provide a replacement. Most people fight tooth and nail for it.
why did they buy it back.. problems or jus because ??? i have nevr heard this before.
Vibration at 52 to 63 mph
Dealer fixes
rebalanced tires
New tires and rims
Changed driveshaft 3 times
2 Ring pinion in rear end
new engine mounts
new body mounts
new trans mounts
Take the deal, my first truck (04 xlt scab) was one of the bad ones, and yes it took a lawyer to resolve the issue. If ford is standing up to the plate and taking your truck back, then you are one of the lucky ones. By the way I did buy another one, 04 screw it's been a problem free truck from day one 28,000 miles.
Yeah it has probably happened before many times and your dealership is being good to you so take the offer for sure and be happy you dont have to fight it out just to get a replacement truck like the other people said your one of the lucky ones..
04 F150 supercrew 4x4 89k miles no problems, 04 F150 extracab 4.6 86k miles installed brakes and two front end alignments.
I bought the 4.6 in the 4x2 truck thinking it would get better milage then the 5.4, never make that mistake again.
turned a custom van in a few years ago. The best way is to find out what lawyers in your area do the majority of the lemon law returns. Mine cost me 10%.
If the new truck has a higher MSRP you pay the differance, if it's lower then they pay you.
Don't allow them to charge you for anything. Period.
I went through the now defunct DSB with my 04 FX4 and wouldn't wish that hassle on anybody. If you have a chance to get out free and easy take it and run.
My 05 f150 quad cab is a joke. Injector replaced, uneven wear on the outside of the front tires. Dealer balanced and rotated and I was chaged $85.00. Cannot drive with the rear passenger windows down. A loud continous thumping noise is heard. Side mirrors are loose and the truck bed bounce or vibrates on the freeway or the street with no load.
Been there with my 04 Superduty. After a long long struggle and several meetings they bought that truck back and I now have an 06 F-150 Lariat which I love.I miss the diesel only for the fuel mileage. It was getting 15-17 mpg in the city and well over 20 on the highway. I have had my 06 for a little over a year and it has 5500 miles on it. I dont drive it much cause I have a motorcycle. I had a problem with it around 230 miles the cam in the right head went bad and the truck was not driveable. The dealer offered to buy this truck back and give me a new one but I opted to stick with this one. They gave me a 7yr 75000 mile premium care warranty with a 0 dollar deductable. You may want to persure that with the new truck you get. Just a thought for your troubles. Extended coverage is expensive. I will buy another diesel but I am not sure if it will be a FORD truck or not. I am not to keen on the look of the new Super Duty (08's) and I will not be ready for a few years. So maybe a nice used 07. Good luck with your case. I have been there and I had to work at it and I guess that it may have been cheaper for me to just trade it in and get a new truck but sometimes its about the principle. You on the other hand are lucky you dont have to go through the hassle of arbitration.
