I feel lucky that my warranty is 3/36, instead of 5/60, which means I'll start working on it by my own earlier.
Nobody takes care of you beter than yourself.
Thats just the sad truth there. I just got back from the dealership, after a 45min test drive with the mechanic and argueing about the 5spd auto only having 4 gears, been in the shop for 3 weeks, get it back without low gear, mechanic says my scanner says its in low gear so its in low gear. But the scanner went from 1 to 2 without shifting, he says you wont feel the shift. I replied could care less if I feel the shift, the tach says 4,000rpm in 1st at 35mph and its says 4,200rpm at 38mph in 2nd gear, thats the closest ratio transmission I have ever seen. Lockup converter makes a bigger difference then that.
well I feel alot better now, at least Ford is starting to see my troubles and is helping out with the costs. Even though we feel they should take care of it completely, a new PCM and trans for 500 doesnt hurt so bad. Maybe this truck will finally run for more then 30 days without a problem.
Fordicated.... which truck did you have in about the trans shifting problem?
The reason I ask... the F150 only has a 4 speed trans.... The 250 has the 5 speed that should be put into the 150 but for whatever reason Ford has not done it.
sounds like the tranny is bad. I bought a buy back expedition was returned for same problem. I pulled a 7000 lb boat 600 miles and the tranny was dead. ford put new tranny and coolers in. Anything can be fixed it is not always worth the trouble. take the deal
We finally got some customer service from Ford, Its been a bit more of a fight then anyone should have had to go through but at least in the end they helped us out.
They replaced the trany an ecu for 500 dollars, for the first time sence 2002 this vehicle runs and shifts properly.
I recently purchased a 2006 F150 SuperCrew 4x4. Do you mind my asking what kind of problems you have been having? Mine seems to be run rough around 60 mph and then gets smooth. Concerned if that might be a problem.

We have only had a few problems with our f150's I have 3 2004 models, one has a bad rear axle seal, not a major problem. The other has an exhaust leak right side header, but the bolts are rusted up and the manifold needs to be replaced. They all have around 90k miles, been driven by 6 different people, exp my super crew I pretty much drive that one all the time. The stock shocks are a bad joke once you replace the shocks they seem to drive pretty good, all in all pretty happy with the f150's so far.
I have tried, Rancho, kyb, gabriel, doitch tech shocks so far the Bilstiens are by the far the best replacement shock as far as ride quality and handling improvments. Cant say enough good about the 5100 series Bilstiens, it was nice to get the front up and level with just a shock replacement, there front shocks come with multi ride hight adjustments.
My truck is a 2006 F150 Supercrew 4x4
It has a very bad vibration from 55 to 65 mph. Dealer replaced driveshaft 3 times, 2 ring and pinion gears, new trans mount, new engine mounts, new tires and rims, and rear body mounts. They finally gave up and bought it back. My new truck should be in end of this week begining of next week. My truck was smooth until 55 and then a very noticable vibration until about 65mph. After 65 it smoothes out and rides great.
Hope this helps
