1964 Ford 4x4 specs needed
Just recently bought a 1964 ford 4x4. An excellent truck. Has a 292 with 4.56 gears and 4spd granny. Does anyone have any more specs on this year 4x4 truck? Also considering changing gears to around 3.5 and dropping in a 390 for some extra power and some better speed on the highway. Any suggestions?

1964. Another great year to go Ford, but then again was there any bad years for old 4x4's? I like the 4.10 ratio. I think it's a great compromise for highway speed and off-road power. You don't want to wind that 292 up too much anyway so I don't think you'd really reap the benefit from much taller gears anyway. Good luck on your truck.
