Flowmaster Owners

Im considering 2 different kits for my 04 FX4 Screw. Same 50 series SUV muffler but my consideration is dual side exit or single side exit. I want the truck to sound good but I dont want it to be really loud. Anyone with either of these that can help me out? Thanks

I'm using a 50 series with lightning style exit. It's definatly louder than stock, but not real loud until you get after it, it comes unglued then and starts to roar

I am running a 50 series duals with opposite side exit. I tow a travel trailer on a regular basis so I didn't want the pipes spewing crap all over the front of my trailer. It sounds great. Nice mellow rumble at Idle but if you jump on it you will know it's there. The tip size will greatly change the sound of your exhaust. I am running 3" SS tips.

I have a 50 series siso and at idle you can't even really hear it but at 3000 rpm thats when it starts to sound like a real flowmaster.

I have the 50 flowmaster straight out the back and it sounds awsome. If you want it louder than set the the pipes out the rear side. The only thing is the sound while driving with the windows down with the side exit pipes.

I have always been a fan of Flowmaster, I had one on my 96. Do you guys have a 50 series part# for the single outlet out the side? I'm looking to keep this on a low budget and do it myself. I would like to take off the stock muffler, put on the flowmaster, then have someone bend me up the tailpiece.

$325.00 out the door plus tips. They bent and welded eveything. Check out your local shops.

I have that setup on my FX4. I got it from Summit for under 300 bucks. It attaches to where the 2/12" exhaust pipes merge into the factory single exhaust system. It goes to 3" at that point, all mandrel bends, a"50' series muffler, and it comes with 4" a SS tip. I installed it myself.

and I'm 65 years old...so if I can do it ANYone can...!!!

Check local muffler shops. I had mine done for $235 out the door. That included 50 series and a chrome tip. They are able to reuse the stock pipe if you are going for the stock siso.

Here's a couple pics of mine.

Hey All,
Newbie to exhaust systems....
Does adding this type of system do anything for you besides sound (i.e. performance, MPG)? Second question, Do you need the full kit, or can part of the stock system be used?

Funny..I have the same STX truck in red with the same set up...But I only paid $140 ($70 for the 40 series muffler and $70 for install & chrome tip).

Nice looking truck BTW

any you guys notice interior resonance w/ the 50 series deltaflow, stock rear tail pipe? I currently have a Maganaflow and am really dissapointed in the horrible interior resonance at 1700-1900 rpm, with slight load or going up slight grade, and if i'm driving 60-65, thats about the point its loudest. I had 50 series DF before in a '91, 5L, and i dont remember being this loud. Currently mine is a 4.6 '05 scab, 3.55, but the mag muffler has a nice tone, just that rpm band thats annoying. I just wanted input before spending more bucks on another muffler that maynot be much diff. All else is stock. thanks! pross, BTW, anyone w/the SUV version of the 50 series?
