Is there a regular cab, short bed, 351W 4x4 ford truck?
I want a short bed, regular cab 4x4 truck with a 351W. Was this ever an option? If so for what years? Is it EFI or Carb? If not, what engine was available for short bed, regular cab 4x4s. Are these F150s or F250s? How much would I expect to pay for a lates 80s model one? Thanks!

These were made in anywhere from mid 80's to 96. They are F150's and it all depends on what options and condition the truck is in to put a price to it. They should be fairly in expensive. The 351w converted to EFI in 87 so anything previous will be carbed. If you find one with a 302 the 351w should be a simple swap. Good Luck in your search.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 05-May-02 AT 07:39 PM (EST)]If you find a f-150 with a 351W, it'll either have an AOD or an E40D, depending on the year.
If you find a f-250 with a 351W it'll be a longbed, but could have a zf-5 5 speed.
Ford never put a stick shift behind a EFI 351 in a 1/2 ton truck.
The zf-5 is a great transmission...has a granny low 1st, but an overdrive 5th. It has a smooth shift, but like a true truck transmission it gives you the opportinity to smack your knuckles on the dash and then jam your wrist into the seat, and it is possible to throw out your shoulder if you try to shift into reverse too fast (i.e like all non-car transmissions it has long throws)
Hope this helps and doesn't confuse you more....

Hey fellas--
I live in Alaska so the reg cab, short box, 351w 4x4 aren't too hard to find. I found one in good condition and purchased for 8gs a couple years ago. Still have her. 1990 XLT Lariat...had 60,000 when purchased in 2000...3" Rancho leaf/coil lift...33s...flowmaster duals. Soon to get some shorty headers. Its an auto...not sure what kinda tranny. This baby is damn near unstoppable...eats up snow and mud no prob.
