i boughtmine from recon and i haetd it...i thought it looked tacky and my dad thought it looked like a huge neon sign...so i took it off and sold it on ebay for about 40 bucks...o well mark it up as a lost...i screwed mine in as well and i had to patch it up... o well you cant even see it under the tailgate...some of the led lights looked to have black glue that the people said would eventually burn off but it never did...the reverse gives NO added visibility when backing up and when you put it in reverse...if you lights are on the red still is showing and is alot brighter and it looks like it is suppose to be red white and blue...im puttting the 3 light marker bar on mine because i like that look better...do what you think will lookgood...i just think that these light bars make the trucks look tacky and cheap...just my .02
I just bought one this past week for $70 from www.vanhorn1.com. I got the one with the reverse lights. I like it alot and I have had quite a few good comments about it. As stated the reverse lights don't really give you any more light for backing up. As far as hooking it up it plugs into your trailer light plug and if it has the reverse lights you have one wire to hook up to your factory back-up lights.
I like the look on my truck and many other people said it looks nice. I guess it is just personal preferance. I am happy with mine. From the sounds of it I am glad I did not spend the extra money on the white reverse lights, would have cost me about $60 more.
