Yet another V/B spring upgrade question

I'm working up the parts for a V/B spring upgrade. I'm hoping someone can help ensure I have the correct parts.

The front seems pretty clear:

For the rear, it seems as if the B code springs are at the max of the rear axle, so there's no real benefit to mod them - other than to save the cost of the tapered blocks. I also assume that the modded springs will be a little stiffer, so using the blocks is also sort of a middle ground in stiffness. Is this correct?

I also found a number of different references for u-bolts. I thought F350 blocks were mentioned too, but these seem to be F250 ones so I'm a little leery to pull the trigger.

Don't forget the washers for the U bolts.

I am right in the middle of doing this swap on my X, actually a little bit more complicated because I am pulling the lift off it so i had to source additional parts.

If I can find the pics on my phone I also took shots of the height diff from the stock rear, un modded b, and modded b so you can see the difference.

Also, if you haven't purchased the parts yet I would talk to Cary at CT performance. He had the best prices on springs and u bolts by far. For the rear sway bar your best shot at that is to go to a salvage yard and find an F250 that has the bar and take all of the brackets along with it.

Looks like a good list to me! I have almost the same numbers on my lists.

The N800937-S301 gets updated to the the same number but "S441"


Too bad the rear sway bar is on backorder with no ETA
I hope Ford makes them available again soon.

Looks good to me, can I suggest the Hellwig rear sway bar, just as good as the OEM and available everywhere and if you go the route of the F350 blocks with your stock rear springs look into the RoadMaster Active Suspension. That combo with the v's really worked out for me on my previous EX.

I don't really need to see a photo. Was the rear lower or flat with V springs?

I'll try, having the new prices is helpful. I've found that salvage is sometimes no better than the dealer or only a couple percent savings. So I have to be armed with price info before calling around.

Yes the Hellwig is an option too. As far as I can tell that and OEM can be treated the same - just get whatever is lower total cost/in stock...

I need to look into the RAS. I'm hoping these spring mods get me to where I need to be - at the very least it eliminates the springs as the weakest link in the axle ratings.

The main reason why I'm suggesting the RAS is to minimize the axle wrap. Keeps things lined up back there

that u bolt # will not fit with f350 blocks. You need the u bolts for the F350 SRW axles part number N803770S436 . They are a little longer than the U bolts for the Excursion.

You can save a bunch over the OEM u bolts by buying Husky ubolts from Rockauto.

Thanks, I updated my original post. With this number. The Husky (Grade 5) cost more than OEM online prices.

That number is actually off of a F350 as well; its what most of the stock F350 pickups around here use. There are quite a few different numbers out there for U bolts. I've never been told those wouldn't be long enough with blocks, but it wouldn't suprise me

However, if the N803770S436 works forsure and is less expensive, I'll be selling those from now on.

Yes. the N803770S436 U-bolts are 13-1/2 inches long. Standard OEM are 10-1/2 inches long. This is the inside length.

Measure your pack and blocks carefully to determine the exact length. Remember to allow for nut/washer lengths.

It may very well end up that you only need the 10-1/2 inch with your setup. But it is nice to know the available lengths before purchase, anyway.
