trying to help...
I did everything everybody told me to do. Then I checked the voltage at the coil & found what I did. That is why I said to check voltage at the coil at different rpms. Who would have thought alternator? Trying to keep him from going through the same junk I did. I checked the voltage against my 1970 F100 that is all original & runs perfect. It was around 5-6 volts at idle with a peak of 11.8 at wot. Hope that helps.
