Hey everyone. Its been a while since I've posted, sorry. Anyway, I've experienced a slight clunk when turning left or right in my 2000 v-10 4x4 excursion. I've had the ball joints checked, they are ok. I've had the steering box checked out, its ok too. Any suggestions. I can hit a speed bump head on, no clunk. I can make a right or left turn and ''clunk''. Its not a huge one, just a little agrivating.
Maybe no one know what the problem is and therefore don't post. I for one do not know whtat could cause it, but just to shed a little light on your comment, I have never had a problem with people not posting. Just my opinion, but this formun has the best reply rate of any forum that I have been on in a long time, but that is just my opinion.
I have the same clunk in my '01 when turning - it's been driving me a crazy and I can't figure it out.
I posted the problem here https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/5...urn-knock.html back on 9/15 - maybe that's why no one responded to your post on 9/30. Some people believe you shold search before posting. I've been "picked on" before when i would post a question before searching, only to find out it had alread been answered.
Just because one post doesn't get answered, doesn't mean "no one likes answering posts". I haven't had a single post with out some reply. Maybe it was just a bad day and no one really had an answer.
Sounds like sway bar endlinks to me. We have the same prob on our `05 Ex.
Our front Ford bar clunks, and the rear Hellwig bushings squeak like all get out. It's driving my wife nuts, I need to get taken care of asap.
There is also a chance that it is the front body mount on the drivers side, which is right under your feet. If you do a search, you'll see a decent number of posts with these problems. (That doesn't absolve us from answering your question, though. )
This was happening to me and it was the body mount. The rubber had cracked. I am paying the dealer to replace it because you have to left the body from the frame a little to replace the rubber parts. Good Luck.
