66 F100 Stepside 4x4
My son has the above with original I6 4 speed and the transfer case seems to be wasted. Can he replace the engine and case with 302/351W and NP205 without difficulty and still use the same 4 speed? If so, can he use the I6 bell housing in this swap? I have never worked with Ford I6's, only V8's and John Deeres. He needs to get this back on the road.

deere- yes you can use the same bell housing on the 302/351's as you have now. You may need the perches and deffinitly will need the mounts for the V8. What T-case do you have now? DF

I am not positive of the t-case type but it has the old style tall shift lever with the grandma gear similar to the ones used in 1 and 2 ton ford trucks. Would this be what they call the New Process 435's?
