Oil Temp Light

When I went out and started my truck the oil temp light stayed on for a couple of seconds and then went off. It's kinda cold out, but when I turned it off, after driving it a few miles and it was completely warmed up, and then started it back up the light stayed on again for just a couple of seconds. What's going on?

Temp?? Are you talking about the Low Pressure warning light. Check Oil level. Or coul dbe a sign of a weak LPOP

Well, the light is red and it has the same symbol as the coolant guage does with an oil can under it. Is that oil temp?

I just check my oil and it is right at the top line on the dip stick.

It's a warning light for either low oil pressure or high coolant temp. Kind of dumb that they use one light for both. My light flickered a few times several weeks ago while driving, and I pulled the owner's manual out to check for sure what it was. Turned out to be a bad connection on my oil pressure sensor under the hood. Since I cleaned it, I haven't seen the light on again.
