heated mirrors

I own an 04 XLT 5.4 4x4 ext. cab with 75,000 miles on it. Ever since new, this truck has done almost anything you can think of. One thing that I should had opted for is the heated mirrors. I have a contractor's cap that you cannot see through from the rearview. I get on a busy highway where you need to shift lanes alot and its almost a guess to get over. I know most of you guys have heated mirrors with Lariats and FX4's. How well do they work? Next question- I have power mirrors, Is the wiring harness the same for both setups? I know some things are the same when the trucks are manufactured on the assembly line, just not sure about the wiring harnesses. Thanks for any input!!

I do not know if the wiring harness is the same but my mirrors work great. I press the button when fogged and you can watch them clear within a minute. When snow and ice covered they clear within five minutes.
