1978 F250 Knocking

Sometimes when I turn off my truck it knocks a little, and the shut off is delayed. It's a 78 F250 4 x 4 with the straight 6. Thinking it may be the timing.

Nope, just carb adjustments and sometimes general tune. The guys down here can help with the carb.

You might need to bring the idle down a bit, and maybe lean out the idle mix just a little bit.

Great thanks guys! I'll check it out in the morning. By the way it came with an extra hood. I used to do body work so I don't need it, just need a little help on the mechanical side.

It's not running to hot is it? That can cause it too. Actually, I usually richen the idle mixture a bit to keep the combustion chambers a little cooler.
But usually lowering the idle a little and maybe slowing the timing just a tad will fix it.
