SHELL' BIG TRUCK ABS Light

We have had the rearend of the truck rebuilt, this summer in fact. Replaced bearings and ring and inspected everything else. I replaces the VSS this morning and that did the trick. ABS, overdirve and speedometer all work perfect. Thanks for pointing us in the right direction. BTW- the part was $22.90 at the dealer and took less than 15 minutes to replace.

I had the abs light go on but not the od light problem. My problem ended up being the front wheel bearing and hub.

Hmm.. One of our farm trucks seems to have this same problem. The speedo doesn't work and the ABS light is always on. Its a 5-speed. I hope the rear end is not on its way out. How often do this sensors go out?

If both speedo and ABS are not working (and overdrive flashing on auto) I would suspect the VSS. If only one symptom then could be something else.

Well, if metal practicles get onto the sensor it will make the sensor not pick up the tone ring and it will give the same results. The sensors go bad more though than the rear end
