fault code p0500

fault code p0500
hi you guys out there
i have a 2000 f250 superduty 4x4 i switch on and drive off when i reach around 30mph od light flashes i plug in computer with engine still running fault code p0500 is there but i have no problems with shifting or od speedometer and abs is working ok if i turn off engine and turn on again reconnect computer fault code is not there untill i drive off again,
anyone out there can help please
