Stopping and starting while driving

Hey, got a question, my truck (2000 f-350 160000 miles) just started quitting while driving and then it catches itself and starts runnung again. the wait for engine to start light comes on andthe water in fuel light comes on when that happens. I checked the codes and i get #2 02-po478 and #01 po470.

Any thoughts

Sounds like u hve a CPS going bad to me.
The codes are indicating an EBPV problem.

470 and 478 are Exhaust backpressure sensor codes but they should not be the source of the cutout. It sounds like you have a CPS going out. There is a link in the sticky at the top of the forum for changing it around 60 bucks from ebay 200 from Ford.

On the backpressure sensor clean the sensor and tube they tend to get clogged up. Front of engine behind the belt tensioner and above the CPS

Have you check for water in the fuel bowl? If that not the issue, Probably the CPS. Get a clear jar and drain some of the fuel in to it and see if there is any water when it sepreates out.

Thanks for the replies, I picked one up at the local Ford Dealer today. I know more $ but I use it everyday. (tax deduction). where is this little dude at so I change it in the morning?
