I just wanted to thank all you guys for all the good information I have been getting off this site. I have a 2006 6.0 and it's the best truck I have ever owned, it has 3,600 miles on it right now and it seem like it runs better everyday. If I had known how much power a diesel had before I would have bought one a long time ago.
Add all kinds of aftermarket mods, use non-diesel rated oil, use non OEM filters, run it hard, use bad quality fuel, change oil every 10,000 miles... then come back and post how bad the truck is doing (well others do).
Glad to hear that all is well. It is refreshing that some do actually like their truck and enjoy it. Take care of it and it will take care of you. I have a 2003 Excursion with 80,000 miles and only relfashes to the PCM done on it.
Change oil and fuel filters (OEM spec'd filters) on schedule and you will be amazed at how well it will run for you.
Enjoy... many of us do regardless of what some post here.
I was thinking about running waste motor oil, putting an edge juice in it. Air intake 6 inch stacks, cat delete, using a non ci or cj rated oil, propane injection, alcohol based fuel addatives, on and I wanted to pull a 10K trailer through the mountains at 95+ MPH, I was wondering if there were any tips you could give me to make my engine detonate sooner??
You guys are right on. I am so sick of the crying. Funny how guys that buy the truck and use it like it's supposed to be used and maintain it like it's supposed to be maintained rarely have an issue. Put me in the mega happy list along with two of my friends that actually have 2003's and have never had a problem with them. One egr valve on the truck with well over 120k. Mine is a 2006 with 7k. The truck is fantastic and so is the motor. Lots of power. My wife thinks I'm nuts because I wash and wax the truck once a month when its a work truck. She just doesn't get it. She knows enough not to come back with a scratch on it though. Smart woman. I'm a foot taller and 100lbs heavier. (Just kidding.) I am a foot taller and 100lbs heavier though.............. Ok 10 inches taller and 120lbs heavier. I don't know how many here take the time to check out GM and Dodge forums. Owners go there to get advice with their problems just like here. Not alot of posts that say "My truck is running great, update at 11"
