Do ya'll know a link to motovac or seafoam I am not findin too much on the internet... My engine smokes a lil on startup and I am 100% sure that it is the seal around the valve stems... Pumping this chemical through my engine isn't going to damage anything... as in leak through any of these worn out seals??? I would be very timid of this procedure but I have never heard of it before either.
If your smoking, your seals aren't in the greatest of shape. With 191K on the clock, I would advise new rings if you decide on pulling the heads. For the time being, have you tried any oil additives? I like lucas, but there are many out there.
No I have no plans on doing any engine work to the truck until it croaks or starts running bad. I haven't tried any oil additives for several reasons.
1.) It only smokes occasionaly on initial start up.
2.) I think it looks kinda cool when a tiny bit of blue smoke comes out of dual exhaust at WOT.
3.) "That's not smoke that's the truck automatically protecting the exhaust system from rust." lol
I am scared of stuff that comes in a bottle that you pour into the engine. It took me forever to build up the corrage to try the Lucas Fuel System Treatment. What does the oil additive do?
As far as motorvac and seafoam, I guess I need to call around to local service centers to find out if anyone does it? I didn't see any kind of link on the site for local providers of their services.
