EBPV? What is it? Where is it? I see people that have gutted them it in there signatures. What does it do when it's gutted? How do you gut it?
Thanks

Exhaust back pressure valve. The valve is on the outlet side of the turbo. Just remove the clamp to the down pipe and look inside you'll see a flaper valve. Do a search in this forum and you should find out how to gut it.
The EBPV is closed by electical current from the PCM to aid in cold weather warm up. The outside air temp. has to be around 40* (I think) for the PCM to close it, not just a cold engine. Sometimes they malfunction and stick closed or halfway closed. They also limit you HP when they are closed until your truck warms up and they open. Most poeple that don't want them just unplug them, (that way they will not close), some poeple gut them (remove the flapper, rod and actuator and plug the holes).
The HPX (High Pressure Cross Over) is line or tube used to equalize the high pressure oil in both heads. The HPOP (High Pressure Oil Pump) supplies oil to each head independently, the PCM reads the oil pressure by a sensor (ICP) in the left (drivers) head. This setup can cause the pressure in one head to be higher than the other. The HPX connects the oil passages in both heads, equalizing the pressure. This usually means a smoother idle and smoother running engine. The HPX can be a high pressure hose or steel tubing.
