Well guys I was thinking about gutting the EBPV and the more I read it seems like it would be better to delete it due to the fact of an oiling issue for the turbo. Mine is leaking and I really don't have the cash to repair or delete it so would it hurt the truck if I just gutted it and if so what size tap and bolt do I use to plug the hole.
I don't think it will hurt anything by gutting it. I don't know what size tap you need. Have you watched Maintain's video? It seems like he tells you what size tap in there. Don't forget the lock tite and set of o-rings for reinstalling the pedestal.
I did get a deleted pedestal for mine and gutted the EBPV an welded a plug in on of the shaft holes, because i could not for the life of me drill into whatever the hell they make that outlet from!?!? I later did gut the actual oil operated solenoid, and it took about 10 minutes to gut it, tap the hole with a 3/8" tap, put the brass plug in it, wash it out and put the plate back on the end. I'd give ya mine, but it's for the early 99....
Welll I think I'll wait for a deleted pedestal then, but I cannot pay for the one that Robin posted I looked at it easlier today and I couldn't find any more. I looked for Rons Turbo Services and I couldn't find it they said he use to have a good deal on them. I do have a question I was at the IH dealer last night for some o-rings and they had the turbo showning non EBP turbo could I find an old T444E engine and get the pedestal off of it?

I would think that if it is the same height it should work. My early 99 pedestal is 1/2" shorter than late 99+. That 1/2" would prevent you from attaching your up-pipes to turbo.
Give Ron's Turbo Service a call. He should be able to just sell you the pedestal without the exhaust outlet. You can modify your own exhaust outlet.
Ron is the man! He's the one that got me my delete pedestal. He pretty much went above and beyond to get my part to me ASAP, which is nice when your truck is your daily driver!
It does help it heat up faster, so that's why most everyone keeps them in if you live north of the Mason/Dixon.... but alot of us also take them out IF you have to take the turbo out because some say it causes a bit of exhaust constriction?? I took mine out because it was cheaper than replacing the leaking pedestal, but if you got it in, it would be good to use it for an exhaust brake
I'm not doing any serious power mods....and winters in NH give us single digit mornings and a more -0 mornings than I care for. Thanks for the quick explanation!
