I have a 1997 f350 crew cab with the 7.3L powerstroke. It has 154,000 miles on it without so much as a hickup. I just had the first problem, ever, with this truck.
My right rear power door lock quit working. It was getting sluggish and then quit. I pulled off the door panel and tested for power at the connector and I am not seeing any voltage through the connector. Is there an in line fuse? Also, pulling up and pushing down on the manual lock plunger is not easy. However, I can not find the source of the friction. I assume that this is why it quit working in the fist place.
I was checking the wron connector. There is power going to the power door lock actuator. And, after drilling out the rivet that holds the bracket in place, I discovered that the motor simply snaps out by pushing down on it. OOPS.
Can anyone tell me where to get a new actuator at a good price?
