I have a 2003 expedition. The passenger front door lock just quit working.Sometimes when you hit the button it acts like it wants to move but it wont. All other locks work fine.Any ideas?
Door lock actuators are shot. I have done my two back doors so far. Its not that bad really. Just search for replacing the actuators and there are several good step by step write ups out there.
Nope, remove 3 screws then lift the panel up and outward. You have to fiddle around with the door handle a bit to get the panel off it, but that's the worst of it. Oh and those 3 screws...
1. Pop the plastic lens off the light at the bottom corner of the door. You'll find one long screw there.
2. Pop out the power window switch/plate assembly. There's one tucked up under in there. It's a tight spot so be careful not to drop it.
3. Pull off the triangle piece at the top front of the panel. You'll easily see the 3rd screw there.

If you can hear it trying to move and you know there's juice going to it.Then yah it's probably time for a new actuator.
