I would like to street rod my truck and I have what I think to be a clever idea for a paint job. I am thinkin bout painting the truck to look like the flying tigers p-40's. you can view the paint job here: www.xcski.com/gallery/d/15031-2/070_p40_flying_tiger.jpg

I plan on upping the horse power on the 390 and beating tuners and such. when I do beat them I am seriously considering puting a japanese flag on the side but I don't want to be raciest so I think I will get little honda, mazda, etc stickers and put them on. So I really would like every one's opions. Thanks.

I really dont think you want to hear my opinion about putting japanese logos on a old Ford pick up.

On the other hand, that flame scheme would be a real eye catcher on a truck. good luck with it.

I think it would look cool from a humerous point of view but i would never look at it as badass or anything, and i sure as hell wouldnt let any girls see me driving it. I do however support the idea of making your truck fast and beating hondas and such, why would you put the jap flag on it though? If thats a joke it flew over my head. I have a bad oppinion of most flames as well. Im somewhat of a perfectionist though and am very picky.

the japanese flags was a historical thing. in the pacific when an american shot down a jap plane the american put a japanese flag on the side of his airplane. but yeah. really didn't know bout the paint. so i do appriciate your opinion. what kind of pain would you recomend? I was considering the stock colors,green on the lower half and white on the upper, because it matches the interior or maybe a primer black? but i really don't know.

Well it depends on how far you wanted to go with the fighter plane idea. You could do green on upper section and white on the lower section for the whole above and below camouflage thing.

Obviously you wouldn't have to paint the whole underside of your truck white unless you also plan on running OVER the Hondas.

well you know

well, the truck dose have those nice and big chrome bumpers..... thats one reason i love the truck is because i know if i get in an accident i will probably be safe. especially if i get hit by a lil honda or acura.

I would go with a stock look over a primer black truck for your case. If it was a mud truck id say go for the primer black, but thats really a "work in progress" kinda look. I will get back to you for a better suggestion but i need to think about that and im kinda busy right now. A pic of your truck would help, do i assume correctly that it is a 1972 f250 camper special?
