I installed the headers I got from JBA, I got them for free from JBA a few months ago and posted the details. Long story short, they needed a test fit vehicle so I let them use my 05 3V. Headers were free if I wanted SS, I opted for the Titanium finish for $100, Ceramic would have been $100 also.
Some recommendations going to JBA that I think need to be added to the directions are:
remove the fender liners
remove the airbox
remove the starter
Don't waste your money on stage-8 bolts for the 3V, not sure about the 2V motors but the tabs are no where near long enough to hit anything so they won't stop the bolt from backing out. We relized this after the install and I need to call Stage-8 on Tues for a fix. For now, I left the Stage-8 bolts in by themselves, no washers. The headers came with bolts and lock washers.
The problem bolt to get out do to clearance was on the drivers side, second cylinder back, lower bolt. There is a heat shield riveted to the motor mount that makes it a real PITA. On the install with the header, it was very east due to the header design.
The problem bolt getting in with the headers was the pax side, second from the rear cylinder, top bolt due to the header design and curves.
One more thing to add is that I've only driven it a few miles so no first driving impressions yet until I get the stage-8's ironed out. I will be towing my racecar back to Ohio again later this month like I did last year and will compare the milage and towing.
Stage-8 called me back first thing Tues am and are sending the correct (longer) tabs. Looks like my package of bolts got the wrong tabs (purchased from Summit). The longer tabs should be here today, great customer service.
Yes to both actually. Not sure about the 2V but the 3V exhaust port is shaped like a D with the flat side down. The tabs hit the tubs on the top bolts noq but still won't reach the bottoms do to the flat spots on the bottom of the headers that match the ports. I didn't see the part about bending them so I'll have to try that but they are aluminum and I'm not sure how much bending they will take before breaking. For now, I left the bottom tabs off and will check the tq periodically until I get a chance to try and put the tabs on and bend them or get even longer ones from Stage8.
