I don't know anything about those cards.
I need to wipe out my hard drive and start all over with my operating systems.
Now that is bad, I don't know how to wipe out my hard drive!!!
Not knowing what I am doing looks like "I" would have already.

I'm not running one of those, but I'm running a plain old PCI TV tuner card with a Phillips chipset, and it's just fine.

It's old hardware, but it does the job. Clean picture, good sound.

Am I reading that link correctly? The price is $2,995.00 ?

Chugalug If you have a 2000k or xp or a xp pro disk it will wipe your hard drive when it install's
Just make sure you have all your driver's before you start.

I'd spend a few more bucks and go for an ATi tuner. MSI's mobos are the shiz, but i'm not a big fan of their periphials.

Tigerdirect.com has a pretty good selection of tuner cards, you ought to check them out.

Yep, I got mine from www.geeks.com . It's just a generic PCI card, but it has a very clear picture, no stutter, and great sound.

I think all the under $100 cards are probably about the same.

If you're going to do it, do it right. I tried going the $30 route, and it sucked. It was so bad... most of the channels didn't come in. The rest of them came in staticy and in black and white. I mean, I love black and white, but I sure would like to pick when I want to watch in B&W

The problem is I dont want to spend the money on the box to upgrade the video card.
Trying to find the best card that will work with the 64 meg Vid card.
I wouldnt mind spending 50 bones.

Id stay clear of ATI tuner cards,I have one in my machine now. It will not pick up signals through cable although composite works fine. Their support site doesnt even mention the problem either. If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix it,Thanks. Did'nt mean to jack the thread but this card isnt that old so if its something simple, then I would lean back towards ATI but if its shot,id say find something better.

Have you tried uninstaling/reinstalling/updating the drivers?

I've got a MyHD MDP-130 card, and it does well. As you can probably tell by the name, it is geared more toward OTA digital and HD reception than cable, but it does an OK job on analog cable. It will also pick up in the clear QAM digital signals off of cable.

cruisomatic, in the TV program, go into the setup area, click on the Display tab and click the Initialization Wizard button. Make sure everything is set up right and allow the program to autoscan to completion, if you cancel the autoscan, you won't have any channels.
