Vent window frames

I've done some searching and can't locate a supplier for vent window frames. Has anyone had any success making them? Mine are not salvagable, they have serious rot.

Eric, Check Dennis Carpenter, my guess he would be the only one reproducing them.

I also am not sure how many years they are interchangable, but finding a good set in a salvage yard maybe the best source for replacements. IMHO

Current online parts supplier's indicate the 'vent frame' "is coming", at around $150 ea., wow. Interesting, number of the same parts suppliers catalogs I have from 2-3 years back say same thing, ' part coming'. I have seen the vent window frame in the www.vintage-ford.com catalog item #'s 8481, and 8480, again at $150, it's a recent catalog but not sure if still available. If it's the pivot arm, believe the are available thru few of the Ford part supplier's. I have salvaged vent window frame on my 65 by replacing the pivot arm. It is not that difficult, imagine if bougth thru supplier, rivots included, if not can be obtained in most hardware, or auto suppliers store. Otherwise, as John indicated, most inexpensive route, if able to find in good condition, would be salvage yard.

thanx dave

Mine aren't salvagable, Vintage does have them for 155 each, but they are in black steel, I'll search used first and use them if I can't find any. I'd rather have SS or chrome if I have a choice..

Eric, You will have to go aftermarket for that. I believe all Ford ever made were black.

Post a WTB in the classifieds. These are available. If you like chrome just have a good set plated.

Check out John's F-100's www.f100.com That is where I got my headliner, window felt, and vent frames, in chrome. Call them, they are real good about delivery, and doing it only once. They also have little things like the glove box bumpers/ashtray bumpers, check it out.

If critical need for part, suggest call John's F100 in advance. Have received order in matter of couple days to few weeks. Don't believe they have a large inventory and at times can take their supplier's weeks to deliver the part. Can't shop elsewhere because they charge the item to your account; although, assume could cancel the order. John's is a good source for parts; particularly some of the hard to find parts. They are very friendly and helpful just suggest call in advance. Sorry did not mean to get off the topic.

ya I've already bought some things from them, and they are slower than crap. I checked his website and it didn't have a price for the frames, but they were listed, I'll give him a buzz. Thanx Guys.

Steele Rubber also has them. I found them 2 nights ago after watch "My classis car". The prices are pretty good and they have a guarantee.
