oil leak

I had some 292 heads re-built in march and drove the truck off and on every since.when i was under the transmission tunnel working on the clutch and pressure plate i noticed that the right side of the engine had oil all on it..it didnt come from the tapet cover its more around the head..i did replace the gaskets with metal ones..should i tear the engine back down or just try and rough it till i can find a good small block or big block ford?

I'm not real familiar with y-block Fords, but by tappet cover, I assume you mean the lifter cover under the intake? Your leak isn't coming from a valve cover gasket, is it?

oil leak

Randy, I think it depends on how bad the leak is.
Is it dripping on the ground? If not, maybe you
could just keep an eye on it until that dream
engine comes along! Did you check for lose bolts
(valve cover, headbolts, etc)? I hope this helps
a little. Tim.
