Flashes

I have a 2004 with 33,000 miles which runs fine. I've had the truck about a year. But I keep reading about the flashes. I' not sure how many if any my truck has had. Since its almost out of warrenty should I take it in and get any flashes it is due? I hate to mess with a truck with no problems. Do they charge you for doing flashes?

Understand what a flash is first. In the old days a mechanic used to crawl under the hood and tune the carb with a screw driver. A flash is the same thing only done with software instead of a screw driver. A re-flash is an adjustment, so if your satisfied with how your truck performs then I would not worry about the dealer flashing or upgrading your truck.
