I have a leer shell that came with my '91 f-150(8 ft) and would like to sell it. The guy who I bought the truck from said the shell was $1000 new, and other than it being a little faded after 11 years, and a small hole in one of the screens on it it is in good shape.
I didn't realize you finally got a truck, congratulations, sounds like a good one. Its a tough call on the shell, look in the newspaper and want-ad papers to see what they usually go for and then base your price on that. Around here (northern NM) there really aren't too many for sale all of the time. I would guess in the $200-$500 range though, just off the top of my head. If you have room to store it, why not just keep it around. They can come in really handy, especially if you live in a wet climate were there is significant snow, or if you have dog, or if you like to go camping, etc. Just a thought...
What I really want is one of those canvas camper shells that are like the leer shells. So when I am not using it I can fold it up and put it away. But damn they are expensive! The cheapest I have found one for is $950 and above $1200 for some other ones. Too rich for my blood!
