yea my 88 does..but my 93 f150 doesnt...which is why im switchin all my 88 bronco driveline out and into my 93..i love my aod..never given me a bit of problems, actualy i think that is a hybrid, gear driven electric in my 88. ive just been tryin to get the tranny to behave untill i get the swappin done... either way i changed the fluid in the rearend and now the speedo doesnt bounce much at all anymore and the tranny shifts better in higher gears but first is still acting up.
91 and earlier have a cable-driven speedo off the transmission.
92 and newer have a speed sensor for the ABS system on the rear differential, which also feeds the PSOM module which is a little circuit board behind the speedometer which actually electronically moves the speedo needle, but also sends the signal to the EEC so the computer knows how fast the truck is going.
