i finally quit the dealership world and know am a shop owner.now i dont just get to work on fords i get to get all the brands of diesels.when i went to work for myself,a buddy of mine said that being a general repair facility was ok but specaizing in some certain area of the auto repair indistry would be better.im still a general repair facility but have become a diesel specalist in my area.my hand takes care of all the things that he can do and i do the hardcore stuff.it has worked out well because most of the shops in a 100 mile radius have a bad rep for diesel repair.the diesel end of my buisness is slowly growing to where there is up to a 2 week wait list for me to even pop the hood on a vehicl.god i love my job.
ill fess up.
Im a 17 year vet most all of it with Ford, some time in gov'ment motors, and crystler along with a few mixed import shops.
Im a Ford SMT, ASE Master with L1. also a Full time PSD cert tech.
Glad to help
thanks in advance for all the work u guys have put in to this site,no for my problem, its 03 250 w/6.0 truck will start and idle.i have a genis reader and hooked up,icp press is around 700 but dosnt increase to desired press when throttle is increased.icp voltage also stays the same at around .8v.could icp sensor be shot or icr cause this?
rc please dont thake this the wrong way. It would be best if you started your own thread for this.
anyhow to awnser your question. the fastist way to determin if its just an icp sensor is to disconnect it. this will set a check engine light and a code p2285. once its in default if the issue remains thats not you problem. 03/04 early trucks have knowen icp issues.
