I have the same problem.
Headlights off, key out of ignition, and it beeps sometimes, sometimes not.
If I jiggle the ignition (without the key in it) I can get it to stop, or start, if it's stopped.
If I close the door, it stops, so I figure something in the ignition switch is worn.
Doesn't seem to be hurting anything, so I just ignore it.

Same here. I can pull the key out before the ignition is all the way into the 'off' position--which will cause the chime to ding at me when I open the door. I'm letting sleeping dogs lie for now.
you guys are on track. replace the switch and things should be ok. in the meantime, you can unplug the bell underneath the dash. listen while it is beeping, it is not hard to locate. I did that when I had the same problem. I didn't know how involved it would be, so I unplugged it until the weekend, when I had time to dig into it. Turned out I replaced the switch in the NAPA parking lot in about five minutes. Word of advice though, if you unplug the bell, dont leave your keys in the ignition or the lights on, or you will need a spare key and some jumper cables!
