ABS Light on 99 Ranger

The ABS light in my 99 Ranger came on today. Are there any common problems that can cause this, or are there trouble codes that I can check?

mine came on when i was needing a brake service... i put new brakes on and it went away... it was very strange

I fixed it this weekend. The ABS sensor was open.

I tried to get the flash code, as shown in a manual that I have, but was unable to. Is there a trick to this?

i just had the same abs light. my codes showed the rear wheel speed sensor( the one on the rear diff). it cost me 23 dollars and ten minutes to install, and the trans even shifts better now.
