Trans Flush?
How do I go about flushing my trans. I have a 99' Lightning with 95000 miles on it. I want to put a deeper pan on it and one with a drain plug. What type of fluid is recommended?

Mercon 5 is what's recommended I believe.
As for flushing, drain the pan, trans cooler, and, if the converter has a drain plug on it, you can drain all of the fluid out of it as well...that'll get just about all of it. You can loosen the bolts on the valve body (and theres a bunch of 'em), but I don't think you'll even get a half a quart out of that.

I prefer this method versus the power-flushing method via a machine.

The common consensus on the L boards is to continue using the Dextron III/Mercon tranny fluid.
