If you do the tinting yourself get a bottle of clear fingernail polish and do the edges to seal the tinting after a few days, this will keep it from pealling back, also after doing the tinting don't roll your windows for a couple days so the adhesive dries.
I was looking to do my 01 F250. All I will be doing is the Driver and Passenger doors to match the rest of the window. Probably will put a strip across the top of the windshield. Just curious because I have been told by friends it would be best to wait until spring or summer. Explaination was that the tint would not stay if it was put on during the colder months. Any truth to that?

The surface the tint is being applied to needs to be in a certain temp. range, off the top of my head I don't remember what this is, the adhesive needs the warmer surface to work properly. If you have a heated garage you can put the truck in overnight before and while you do the tinting would probably work.
I would imagine that those professional that do this for a living will do in a garage. I meant to say that I was going to have it done, not do it myself. Sorry. With that in mind, it would probably be wise to research those in my town that do this. Is there an amount of time to keep it in a warm enviroment after the tint job is done?
i gave it a shot, bought my tint, ruined the first roll, called the local tint shop, 65 bucks to do the whole truck 5% rear window, 15%side and i think 50% windshield but don't quote me on that one he just said he can do the front light for me.
oh ya it made me fustrated enough that i threw the tint on the ground, rared back and kicked the door going into the house, it popped open, broke the door frame, and put the doorknob through the wall, at 6'4 230lbs i have to be careful with madness.
its not worth the busted doors, i am just getting it done with a lifetime warrenty
I order a do-it-yourself kit off ebay with precut windows. It was very easy to put on but didn't look very good at all. Ended up tearing the tint off after a week and paying a professional to do it.
I have 5% on the side windows and back window. Next time I'll only put 5% on the back window and extra cab windows. At night it so hard to see out the front side windows. Having the back 5% makes it very hard to back out of places too, but I put some aftermarket reverse lights on to fix that problem.
The 5% on every window does look awesome, especially since my truck is black. Sometimes you have to sacrifice looks for practicality.
