Why are lightnings so expensive =(

Hey guys -

I've always wanted a lighting!! =D I currently have a 99 f150 std cab flareside (lighting wanna be) 4.2 4x4....

I was wondering what the general price ranges are for this body style ligtnigs?

also i was wondering if I could make my truck in to a lighting aka supercharge? I might be asking this in the wrong forum but maybe you guys would know... the truck i currently have is also a stick, not sure if this would work. any ideas or maybe point me in the right direction?

Thanks so much!!

brian

I wouldn't waste the money trying to convert a v-6 to a supercharged v-8. You would spend more money converting than just selling the one you have and buying a real lightning. I work at a bank, and we just financed a guy buying a 2003 lightning with only 32,000 miles on it for $17,000. It was in perfect condition too, one of the nicest i've ever seen. If you try to convert your truck, even if you do a great job, it will only be an imposter at best. Just my opinion. Good luck.

I agree with the post above, I too own a little V6 f-150. If you want a lightning just keep looking and saving, something should pop up. Or you could buy one of those harley davidson editions, they got a supercharger too. (just in case you did not know)

idk if crash is still posting on here or not but a turbo kit for the v6 produced enough power to have c6 owners talking. i almost had that done to my truck but instead i decided to save up a get an srt or L later on down the road also..so many ways to get what your looking for, the matter is trying and searching it out for yourself

JDM is doing turbo kits for the GEN 2s and Pickrel Performance is doing turbos for the GEN 1s...no shortage of boost with either.
