15 Cab Chassis Questions

Hey guys, I just got a new work truck, its a 15 crew cab f350cc 6.7 with a toolbox on the back. Unfortunately for what I do its overkill, I'll probably fill up maybe two of the six boxes, so the ride is quite rough, and I do a lot of driving. I was wondering what a good way to soften the suspension is. I was thinking maybe a leveling kit in the front from camburg/icon and then maybe removing some leafs from the rear (adding a block maybe to make the height back up). Also wondering if I go that way what size tires I can run when it comes time to change them? I'm going to stay with stock wheels. Are the newer cab chassis still de rated in power like they were a few years back? And does anyone currently support tuning of them?

What I've found so far, they are still considered "severe duty engines" rated at 300hp/660tq. Still searching for someone who tunes them. I have to find out if the truck has the severe duty suspension package because those sit higher from the factory, a 2.5in leveling spring may be perfect because while it may be taller, it should be softer, so it should sit around the same height.

Guess I'll just keep talking to myself here, in case any other cab chassis guys want the info. Spartan tuning says as of September they should be able to tune it. They're estimating with a delete it should be able to run a 120hp tune, which puts me almost at what the 3/4 ton trucks are rated at. That is great for me, plus a mileage bump. Will update as I start modding.

No reason to take the "I'll just keep talking to myself" attitude. You have a Cab/Chassis which is far from the norm of what most here own. Many know that there are differences between the two when speaking of HP/TQ, suspension and some frame design. So rather than speaking up with the wrong information simply pass making comment until someone with the knowledge to answer correctly comes along.

Welcome to the forum, I hope those with the knowledge and know how come along and can assist you. And in turn it is appreciated for you to share your findings as you venture along your journey.

On a side note: I have noticed that the number of postings has seemed to have slowed down a bit. I don't know if it has to do with getting families ready to return to school or what. But, it will pick up soon I'm sure.

Haha I wasn't trying to be a downer, I would have quit posting if that was the case. Like you said I'm mainly sharing the information if anyone is curious, I know the amount of people modifying cab chassis vehicles are few and far between.

As for an update 5 star tuning also replied to me, I'll be calling them next week as they said they can do some custom tunes. But no estimates were provided so I'm already more tempted by spartan as a 120hp boost would be quite nice. I haven't picked the truck up yet, I get it next week. Already has about 15k miles on it so I might hold off a little for the tune, but suspension I may do within a month or two. Really hoping eliminating a leaf or two will make the ride a hair smoother, especially since I ride on a lot of dirt roads. Also anyone that has the camburg leveling kit please speak up, I may go with that kit. I'm wondering if I can get away running that with no upgraded track bar since the truck has a ranch hand bumper. Also the cab chassis were offered with 3 choice of springs: standard duty, heavy duty and severe duty which will vary suspension height. So I'm figuring a softer coil that lifts a little may be equivalent to a severe duty in height but a much better ride.
