trans for 351 5.8liter 1990 help

got a 1990 bronco with 5.8 liter 351 i think i have a e40d what will work with this engine as far as other trans or not . have all forward but no reverse or 4 wheel drive just bought need questions answered.rebuiled or swap from junk yard and hoe to tell what is what..someone hhelp

From what I've been told teh e4od was a pretty good tranny. I think your better off just bebuilding it. As far as what fits, the AOD and C6 fit, the C6 has no OD.

It should be an E40D. I dont understand how reverse and four wheel drive is related. I think you must have two problems. One in the transfer case. That tranny is very stout, but when it breaks, its expensive to rebuild. To put a differnt tranny in there will require alot of other stuff to change. You may want to look at junk yards.
