Check the fuses with a test light, I have seen many blow that were not visable to the eye.

Often the main power wire(s) to the distribution box will be protected by fuseable links, which is a section of color coded wire, with a terminal eye that has a narrow section of wire designed to burn up and will blister the insulation, rather than fry the entire electrical system. Check for a burnt or blistered section of wire right at the main power soliniod after the positive post of the battery.

Dave,do you mean test the fuse itself with test lite? if so how?.....or, in the fuse box for that particular fuse?
I also checked for burnt fuse/link by the battery as was also kindly suggested and saw nothing looking as tho it fried, yet.. thanks

I would check both the fues panel and the fuse with a test light.
If you have no power on either termial of the fuse box, then the fuse has nothing to do with it.

Everything you listed other than the lighter is a light.
I am wondering if the power surge toasted the light switch dash lights dimmer.
