brake drum specifications

Can anyone tell me the original front and rear drum diameters on 1965 F-100 2WD Pickup?

Some of the earlier model car drums were .030 over 11 inches; but I do not know if these were.

I can not find any specifications on pickup trucks.

Thanks,

I'll give you the info I have. The book I have is from 1965-1986 but only gives the drum diameter back to 1977. For this model it has 11.03 and for machined oversize 11.09.

In addition to this, the book also says;
The maximum diameter of the braking surface is shown on the inside of each brake drum
The maximum braking surface diameter specification, which is shown on each drum, allows for a 0.060 in. machining cut over the original nominal drum diameter plus 0.030 in. additional wear before reaching the diameter where the drum must be discarded.

Hope this helps!

Using Autozone's specifications chart 10 inch drums are allowed 10.060 max. 11 inch are what thefonz#1 said.

I hate to sound like a broken record but I compltely rebuilt my brakes on the front of my 65 F100 2wd a while back. New drums, slave cylinders, shoes, and all new hardware and they still do not work the way I would like so I am now getting ready to convert to power disc brakes in the front.
This upgrade is relatively simple and will cost a little more than what I put into the front drum overhaul (money down the drain).
Unless you want a completely original restoration I would say go disc...The disc brakes I am installing are from a 77 Ford F100. I am using rebuilt calipers, new pads and a new master cylinder with freshly turned rotors.
This conversion has been successfuly completed by several members here on this site and there is a tech article that will guide thru the steps and procedures needed.

Good luck
