coil springs ?

coil springs ?
Yesterday I pull the front coil springs off of my 1966 F-250 2X4, My mistake was I did not labels them, left and right, didn't think I needed to. Today after sandblasting them I noticed one was shorter than the other. Does any one know why? and which one goes where?

Right and left are identical and Ford always recommends you replace in pairs. If one is shorter, it's on the way out. It's lost it's tension. Time for 2 new ones. Any good front end or spring shop can get them as some auto parts stores. Moog still makes alot of older springs.

1) Moog Coil Springs Coil Spring: Front Suspension; Heavy Duty 2) Moog Tuff Coil Coil Spring: Front Suspension; Std. Cab; With 6900 Gvw Or Less; Variable Rate. Found these at advance auto parts, F-250 with 352 converted to a 390. I am thinking the variable rate would be better, or would the heavy duty be the coice?
