This should be a simple question to those who know 7.3's. I thought I knew as much as I needed to know about the 2002 7.3. But, today I went to buy a new serpentine belt and they asked me if it was a 121" or a 122.5". Now, I know of the dual alternator option which would use neither one of these belts, but what it with the 2 different sizes? An inch and a half can only lead me to believe that certain motors had different size pulley(s)? Just curious.....
never heard that one before, i remeber being asked about dual alternator. weird. can you still see the number on your existing belt for a cross reference. might be the quickest way

Yeah, I got the Ford part number off of it and got the correct replacement. I was just wondering what the difference was. If there was a different pulley on specific motors I want to know what pulley and why. Maybe it might help for some reason.
My corvette also has 2 different belts for the same application. It would appear that one doesn't allow the tensioner to run in the middle of the adjustment range and results in noise. GM came out with a second belt to correct the issue. Perhaps this is the same issue on the two different for the 7.3. BTW,, what part number did you use. vettdvr
