The starter is brand new too, bendex wont disengage, took starter back got a nother new one and it is doing the same thing. can hear it spinning like crazy. tried turning the key back some and that didnt help either.
Replace the soiliniod on the passanger side fender. Relays tend to fail in the closed position when the contacts arch weld themselves togeather. You can confrim if this is the case if you have continuity with an ohm meter across the big terminals with the key in the off position.
Sounds like a wire in the wrong place.
There are two solenoids on the starter.
One up on the inner fender, one on the starter.
The upper solenoid has a 10 AWG wire that runs to the bottom solenoid.
The bottom solenoid is actually what cranks the engine.
Check the small wire on the bottom solenoid and make sure it is not shorting out to the battery terminal on that solenoid.
If the battery wire is installed in the wrong position it is easy for it to hit the terminal for the small wire which energises the lower solenoid.
