Twin T's!

Anybody ever thought of putting twin turbos on a 6.9 or 7.3? Me and my motor have a date for next saturday to pull it out and rebuild it with a few custom parts. Including custom 19.0:1 compression pistons with ceramic coating, custom wrist pins, teflon wrist pin buttons, custom connecting rods to accomidate the high turbo pistons, custom ground cam, knife edged crank, heads, block and crank glass peened. Oil galleys reamed, heads ported and polished as well as intake. Im thinking of sending my ATS turbo kit which I have already purchased back in favor of a custom twin turbo setup. I will not divulge the components that I plan to use, due to the fact that I might pattent the seetup after many hours of R&D. I will say that it will be a custom 316L Stainless Steel manifolds with an intercooler. Anybody have any ideas. Im thinking of setting up the turbos with about 30 to 40lbs of boost. Im torn on wether or not to wastegate them.

That list is way short on parts to run that kind of boost.

Party on dude, I just recieved my new chrome headers from Stans, and will be installing this week-end, Claims of near as much power as a standard turbo set up, as confirmed to me by a member who actually has a set installed, not just hear say! No moving parts and 1/3 the cost. Will let everyone know how it works out. Get er done!

Dave, I dont want to divulge all of the mods in order to perhapse one day start a full time Mod shop here in the midwest since there are NONE!!! Im working with a guy that knows the IDI fairly more in depth than I do. All I know is that I am trying to make it as bullet proof as I can. The only other engine that I have went as crazy on was a toyota 22 re twin turbo.

KJLYPW.....are these headers for an IDI Engine? I didnt see them on Stans web site?

All I will say is that the machining bill is around the price of what you would pay for a long block 7.3 IDI from ford. Thats not including ANY parts. Pistons are in the $500-$600 range. Connecting rods are in the $400 range! I want to start out pushing 30 - 35lbs of boost and work my way up.
