have any of you ever dealt with a bendex power steering control valve actuator kit i was told there are two types, a bendex or garrison . the kit includes new seals, clamp, tie rod end, wear plates and hardware.my truck must be missing pcs. because these parts arn;t there . maybe thats why it doesn't work that well.any imput would be helpful. truck is a 1977 f250
I couldnt find a kit for my garrison style valve, so I had to replace the whole valve.... was worth the money , cause the crummy system works much better (Mine is a F 100 tho...) I also will admit to actually likeing the feel of this system, It works as Ford intendid it to, and havent had that many problems.
I just replaced the whole valve. Mine is the Bendix type on my 76 F- 250. The price was $179 + $85 core charge. Sorry I don't have experience with the kit.
I'm a '76 4x4. The tires that came with were 13" wide. They ate the control valve. The thing is actually dangerous to drive. I'm trying to get a kit from the local dealer girl. I can't ID the Bendix or Garrison, so I'm gonna order the Benidix and return it if it doesn't work.
I'm wondering if the kit comes with a new ball stud and stud seats?

I could email you a picture of my Bendix valve.

I wouldn't know. Like I said, I replaced the whole unit.
Skeptic...I discovered the kit does not have any parts for the "actuator" the thing that is gone on my rig. Where did you get your control valve assembly?
ejfitco, If the name of the parts dealer is removed before you get to read it, (I don't know if they are a sponser) email me again and maybe by then I'll have that 15th post.
Thank Skeptic...Auto Zone, cool, I'm going to go that way. The kit only has a bunch of o-rings and washers. The rubber boot is shot on my actuator and tires that were on the truck really ate the ball stud and stud seats. Thanks again.
Seems like every time I add a new part I find another one that needs replacing. Well, serves me right. I once asked an uncle what would be the best way to learn how to work on autos. He told me to buy a Ford truck. I guess he was right.
