receiver hitch?

Hi, I just bought a 2000 Expedition. I'm looking for a good class IV hitch that is strong and looks good on the truck. This will be my wife's vehicle, so we don't want a huge hitch that's going to hang off the back. Thanks for any help and post pics if you can.

Thanks,
Jason

I don't know for certain, but you'll probably be pretty limited in Class IV choices. What are you planning to tow with such a large hitch?

Find yourself a wrecked Expy--there ought to be hundreds of them--and get the factory hitch. It will handle anything that you OUGHT to be towing. Be sure you get the bolts, also, or use grade 8 to mount it.

'97-'02 for sure, but good luck finding a Class IV attached to a wrecked Expy.

If no joy on the factory hitch, I heartily recommend the Hidden Hitch variety. I put one on my 2001 Expy and the only part that really showed was the receiver, the hardware was neatly tucked up under the bumper. They don't call it hidden for nothing

Thanks for the info. I haven't had any luck with the hitch from a wreck. I do like the look of the hidden hitch.
